Arizona Professor Booed For Bashing Arizona Immigration Law

Posted by Conservative American Categories: News Tags: Arizona, illegals, immigration, immigration law 6 comments

A Professor at the University of Arizona was booed multiple times during a commencement speech in which she attempted to defame Arizona’s governor,Jan Brewer, and the new immigration legislation that she currently signed into law:

“The new Arizona law generally known as SB 1070 is considered the strictest anti-immigrant legislation in the country(Booing starts), and is explicitly intended to drive undocumented immigrants (interrupted by loud BOO’s !)…out of the state (interrupted again by loud booing and chants for 24 seconds)…One reason it has instigated a boycott is because to a whole lot of people, myself included, it appears to not only invite, but require the police to engage in racial profiling…(Boos erupt again)

AP Fact Checks Obama Tax Credits: Things aren’t what they seem

Posted by Conservative American Categories: News Tags: obama, obamacare, tax credit 3 comments

Even the AP is calling Obama on his lies

Surprisingly the AP decided to fact check Obama’s Small Business Tax credit included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  Ok, it’s not really that surprising they decided to fact check the tax credit.  What is surprising is they were honest with the results.  Obama and his half-wit press secretary Robert Gibbs have been claiming this credit will stimulate job creation.  Not so shockingly it turns out the credit will actually do the opposite.  As the AP reports the credit encourages small businesses to keep their number of employees low, and keep their employees salaries lower:

Zach Hoffman was confident his small business would qualify for a new tax cut in President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul law.

But when he ran the numbers, Hoffman discovered that his office furniture company wouldn’t get any assistance with the $79,200 it pays annually in premiums for its 24 employees. “It leaves you with this feeling of a bait-and-switch,” he said.

When the administration unveiled the small business tax credit earlier this week, officials touted its “broad eligibility” for companies with fewer than 25 workers and average annual wages under $50,000 that provide health coverage. Hoffman’s workers earn an average of $35,000 a year, which makes it all the more difficult to understand why his company didn’t qualify.

Lost in the fine print: The credit drops off sharply once a company gets above 10 workers and $25,000 average annual wages.

Thanks for the info AP, but you’re a little late to the party. Heck, even I got this one right two weeks ago.

With 70 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday, Murtha aide Mark Critz had 53 percent of the vote compared with nearly 45 percent for businessman Tim Burns.

Critz and Burns will have a rematch in the November general election after also winning their parties’ nominations in the Pennsylvania primary.

Rand Paul Wins in Kentucky

Posted by Conservative American Categories: News Tags: kentucy, rand paul, senate 1 Comment

Tea Party sympathizer Rand Paul won the Republican primary senate election in Kentucky, defeating heavily backed opponent Trey Grayson:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Rand Paul defeated Republican establishment favorite Trey Grayson in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, a closely watched race that was a key test of the tea party movement’s strength.

Paul, the son of former presidential candidate U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, on Tuesday gave the tea party its first victory in a statewide election—one that could embolden the fledgling political movement in other states. With 31 percent of precincts reporting, Paul was leading with 65,702 votes, or 59 percent, to Grayson’s 40,767 votes or 37 percent.

This win could be seen as one of the biggest for the Tea Party.

Democrat Senate Candidate Richard Blumenthal Lied About Serving In Vietnam

Posted by Conservative American Categories: News Tags: blumenthal, chris dodd, democrats, lies, vietnam 1 Comment

Current Attorney General of Connecticut, and democratic contender for the Senate seat currently held by Chris Dodd, Richard Blumenthal, has apparently lied about serving in Vietnam:

““We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. “And you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it — Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support.”

There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records.

The deferments allowed Mr. Blumenthal to complete his studies at Harvard; pursue a graduate fellowship in England; serve as a special assistant to The Washington Post’s publisher, Katharine Graham; and ultimately take a job in the Nixon White House.

In 1970, with his last deferment in jeopardy, he landed a coveted spot in the Marine Reserve, which virtually guaranteed that he would not be sent to Vietnam. He joined a unit in Washington that conducted drills and other exercises and focused on local projects, like fixing a campground and organizing a Toys for Tots drive.”

Blumenthal has been leading his republican contenders in the polls by more than 20 points, but that may soon change.

9 Indicted for accessing Obama’s Student Loan Records

Posted by Conservative American Categories: News Tags: bho, obama No comments yet.

Nine people were indicted on Wednesday for attempting to access the student loan records of Barack Obama. Each of the nine individuals have been charged with “exceeding authorized computer access.” The nine individuals worked for the Department of Education in Coralville Iowa from 2007-2009. Six of the nine have been charged with attempting to access Obama’s student loan records while he was a presidential candidate; One is accused of doing the same thing while Obama was President Elect.  They are scheduled to be arraigned May 24

The U.S. attorney’s office said a grand jury returned the indictments in U.S. District Court in Davenport.

All nine are charged with exceeding authorized computer access. They are accused of gaining access to a computer at a Coralville office where they worked between July 2007 and March 2009, and accessing Obama’s student loan records while he was either a candidate for president, president-elect or president.

U.S. attorney spokesman Mike Bladel referred questions to online copies of the indictments.

Each of eight indictments posted by Wednesday night were brief, saying the charged individual “intentionally exceeded authorized access to a computer and thereby obtained information from a department and agency of the United States” and “intentionally accessed student loan records” of Obama without authorization.

DHS cuts NYC anti-terror funding

Posted by Conservative American Categories: News Tags: DHS, homeland security, terrorism No comments yet.

According to politico,  the Department of Homeland Security said on Wednesday that it plans to make cuts to planned anti-terror funding in New York City:

The Department of Homeland Security told congressional officials Wednesday that it’s moving to make cuts in planned anti-terror funding to New York City, less than two weeks after cops helped thwart and attempted car bombing in Times Square — an effort the White House has since pinned on the Pakistani Taliban.

The cuts, lawmakers were told, amount to about 25 percent for port security, and another 27 percent for transit security, according to several reports.

These cuts, coming on the heels of the attempted Times Square bombing is so ridiculous that even democratic senator Chuck Schumer(D-NY) denounced them:

It “just makes no sense at all, particularly in light of recent events,” Sen. Charles Schumer told cable station NY1′s “Inside City Hall.” “The worst nightmare we probably face is some kind nuclear device placed in a container in the ship in the harbor and exploding … we need all the help we can get.”
