The United States Census Bureau will be sending out letters to 120 million households throughout the country letting them know that they will be receiving a 2010 census form in the mail. The letter notifies the receiver that they will be getting the 2010 census form in the mail in about a week, and instructs him to fill out the 2010 census form when it arrives so that his community will receive its fair share(sounds kind of communist doesn’t it) of public funds.  I’m sure by now you’ve all at least heard news of this letter, but if you haven’t received it in the mail, you’ll get it soon. The text of the letter reads as follows:

Dear Resident:

About one week from now, you will receive a 2010 Census form in the mail. When you receive your form, please fill it out and mail it in promptly. Your response is important. Results from the 2010 Census will be used to help each community get its fair share of government funds for highways, schools, health facilities, and many other programs you and your neighbors need. Without a complete, accurate census, your community may not receive its fair share. Thank you in advance for your help.

Well, thank you very much Robert Groves. How kind of you. You mean to tell me that all I have to do is fill out a form and mail it in, and you will give me a fair share of the money that you took from me in the first place. Thanks, but no thanks. I’ve got a better idea. How about you and the rest of the liberal cronies in congress and the White House keep your grubby little communist hands out of our wallets. That way you won’t have to waste your time giving people their “fair share” of their own hard earned money. Also, how about you stop wasting the money you stole from us by purchasing, printing, and mailing letters to notify people that you will be sending them another letter.

Oh, one more thing. Can anybody tell me when the United States Census became a means determining how to redistribute wealth. I seem to remember a clause in the constitution that states a census shall be taken to determine the appropriate number of representatives in congress to be given to each state.

The other day a friend and I were having a conversation(to protect the innocent, I’ll call him Steve).  Somehow, the conversation drifted off into politics.  During our political discussion Steve said to me “why do you even care about politics?  Why even try to stop this stuff? There’s nothing you can do.  You should just live your life and go with the flow.”  I told him “that’s exactly why I care.  I just want to live my life.  I don’t want the government involved in every aspect of my life.  Who are they to tell me how to live my life?  Who are they to tell me what to do with my money? … I care because if everyone had this “give in” attitude we would already be living under tyranny.”

The thought of Steve’s “just give in because there’s nothing you can do about it” attitude has been swirling around in my head for a while now.  It’s shameful that any American’s feel this way.  It is infuriating that any man would prefer a life of uninterrupted subservience to government authority  over one of turmoil in defense of their own rights and that of their descendant’s.  Yet it seems that many American’s have this attitude.  Our founding fathers recognized this unfortunate trait that many human beings possess.  They recognized that people would often prefer to do nothing rather than stand in their own defense.  They warned us against this attitude.

All of these quotes have particular significance in present day America. They exemplify our founding fathers’ predictions on the temperament of the people towards government rule. The founders’s predictions were true. The American federal government has become a centralized conglomerate involved in nearly every facet of American life. At every turn, the federal government is there waiting to regulate, take, and redistribute anything they can. For many Americans, centralized government intervention is all they have ever known. A great number of these individuals are so accustomed to this that it has, as Thomas Paine puts it, “a superficial appearance of being right.”

What so many people fail to recognize is that the federal government has no right to be so deeply entrenched in our personal lives. The level of power that the federal government now exercises over the people was never intended by our founders.   The federal government is in place to defend our rights and uphold the constitution.   They are not here to redistribute our wealth,  indoctrinate our children, or create rights and entitlements through the use of perverse and unconstitutional legislation; Yet they do all of these things, and the American people tolerate it.  From time to time the people will rise up in descent. Much like a tide the government may recede for a time, but the tide always rises again, eroding the shore line further and further.

If I could make a plea to the American people it would be this:

“Do not be complacent; complacency can only serve for you to live in blissful ignorance until the day you come to realize that you are no longer an individual, but rather just a number that is ordered to live in a way that complies with a centralized government’s policies and procedures.

Stand in defense of your liberties.   Tyrants will not wait until you are ready to exercise their tyranny.  It is not your right to defend freedom, it is your duty.

Be proud of your country.  It is the last beacon of freedom amidst a rising sea of tyranny.  If America falls, what hope of freedom does mankind have?”

An unidentified gunman has shot and injured two pentagon police officers. The gunman was also shot and is now in police custody. Apparently the gunman walked up to an entrance to the metro station entrance to the Pentagon and began firing. Shortly after the shooting the Pentagon was on lockdown, however it is now allowing employees to leave the building. No word yet on the identity of the shooter or reason for the shooting.

It’s safe to say that shooter is an evil, right-wing, tea partier that listens to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and Michael Savage. That is, of course, unless he is a Muslim. In which case he is a poor misunderstood soul, that has been tormented by evil, right-wing, tea partiers.

Ok, now this is getting ridiculous.  First of all the United States Census Bureau has budgeted 340 million dollars to advertise the 2010 census.  Guess who’s going to cover this 340 million dollar ads bill.  You guessed it, we are.  Then the bureau blows 2.5 million dollars of US taxpayers’ to air a census commercial during the Super Bowl.  Now they are planning on wasting another $3000.00 of their $340 million ads budget on fortune cookies.  Yes that’s right, fortune cookies.  The census bureau will spend the 3 grand to purchase 2 million fortune cookies that contain varying messages inside the cookie encouraging the consumer  to get out and participate in the 2010 census.   The cookies will be distributed in Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Washington.

I know it’s only $3000.00, but come on, fortune cookies.  They couldn’t figure out a better way to spend tax payer money?  Fortune cookies…really?

According to a Fox News report, the number of new jobless claims rose to 496,000.  Which is about 22,000 claims higher than the previous number.  Analysts originally expected the number of claims to drop to 455,000.  They have attributed the sharp jump in claims to the recent blast of winter weather that the country has been experiencing.   Extended bouts of winter weather have a tendency to trigger layoffs in construction and other industries that depend on weather conditions.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say that liberal’s will soon begin to claim that global warming is in fact the cause of the rise in new jobless claims this winter.  Through the use of deductive liberal(insane) logic they will be able to conclude that since global warming causes snow(it doesn’t), and snow causes job losses, then global warming causes job losses.  Therefore they must impose massive regulations and excessive taxes on the people in order to stop global warming,  and thus stop job losses.

According to a Politico report, the Obama administration is setting the stage for his 2012 reelection campaign.  Apparently Obama has expressed the desire to run for reelection (big shocker there), but the theme of the campaign has not yet been decided.  The article in Politico states that Obama wants this campaign to run just like his 2008 presidential campaign.  Which, in my opinion, would be impossible given that many people that voted for Obama as a center-left candidate now realize that from where Obama stands so far to the left that he can’t even see the center. Planning for the Obama reelection campaign is still in a very early stage, but the campaign is expected to launch next year.

I’m sure that this announcement is no huge surprise to anyone.  Of course a man as arrogant and egotistical as Barack Obama is going to try to keep his position as the most powerful man in the world.  I am sure that in his mind he should be appointed as the permanent King of the United States (maybe even the world).

The big question that came to my mind when I heard that the Obama administration was getting ready for a reelection campaign was  ”Wait, what, he actually stopped campaigning?” .  In order for Obama to start campaigning again means that he would have actually had to stop campaigning in the first place.  All Obama had done since he has been in office is travel around from town to town giving redundant speeches praising himself and slamming conservatives.  He’s done nothing but campaign his entire presidency.  His constant campaigning seems to be quite characteristic of a tyrant (I’m not saying he is a tyrant, but I bet he’d like to be) as a key goal of any tyrant is to stay in power as long as possible (think FDR,  better yet Hugo Chavez, or really any other dictator you can think of).

This brings to mind another question.  If Obama’s presidency has been one big campaign, then why did they even need to announce a new campaign?

Yep, there’s an entitlement program for just about everything.  Only from Obama, liberals, and the welfare state.

What’s the price of defending freedom? 15 years in prison for one Army Ranger. First Lieutenant Michael Behenna was sentenced to 15 years in prison for doing just that, defending freedom. Behenna was prosecuted for  shooting al-Qaeda operative Ali Mansur while escorting the terrorist home.  Mansur was the suspected mastermind behind an attack on Behenna’s platoon which left two US soldiers dead.  For some inexplicable reason, Mansur was released from custody, Behenna was ordered to escort Mansur home.   During the trip to Mansur’s home, Behenna decided to interrogate Mansur in an effort to extract further information.  At some point during the interrogation Mansur attacked Behenna.  Lieutenant Behenna shot and killed the al-Queda operative in self defense.  Now, in any sane world, one would assume that First Lieutenant Michael Behenna would be hailed as a hero for performing his duties; but that’s in a sane world.  Today we live in an insane, liberal, politically-correct society, where terrorists are treated with compassion, and the men and women that defend us against terrorism are hated.  As a result of the insanity that we now live in, Behenna was not hailed as a hero.  No, Behenna was prosecuted as a criminal.  He was put in front of a military panel, tried, found guilty of murder, and sentenced to 25 years in prison (his sentence has sense been reduced to 15 years).

The prosecution and conviction of this American hero is a travesty.  The prosecution in the case against Behenna suppressed evidence that proved Behenna acted in self defense.  Several experts for the prosecution would have testified that the trajectory of the bullets that hit Mansur suggested that Behenna was telling the truth.  Instead of calling the experts to testify, the prosecution sent them home.  When Behenna’s defense team asked the prosecution whether they had any evidence that would benefit the defense, the prosecution denied having any. These expert witnesses could have provided evidence that would have exonerated Lieutenant Behenna; but the evidence was suppressed, and Behenna was hauled off in handcuffs to live a an 8×10 cell for the next 15 years.  Behenna’s defense team has called for a mistrial due to the suppression of vital evidence.  To date, all motions for a mistrial have been denied.

This soldier now needs our help.  We can’t send these men and women off to defend our constitution, our freedoms, and our lives and then send them to prison when they do their jobs.  Please, make every effort to help First Lieutenant Michael Behenna, don’t let the life of a great American go to waste.  There are several ways that you can donate to Behenna’s legal defense fund and find more detailed information about his case:

They’re off to see the wizard…Republicans will be packing their bags and heading off to the White House this Thursday for supposedly “bi” partisan(AKA republicans doing exactly what the democrats want) talks with democrats over health care reform legislation. I think its safe to say that If they decide to compromise with Obama on his health care industry take over, they will be packing their bags for good.  So far, it looks as if the republicans will keep a firm stance against the democrats agenda.  Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell had this to say about the democrats and their attempts to force widely opposed health care reform legislation onto unwilling American’s:

“I think they’re having a hard time getting the message here. The American people do not want this bill to pass. And it strikes me as rather arrogant to say, ‘Well, we’re going to give it to you anyway, and we’ll use whatever device is available to achieve that end,’”

McConnell has agreed to participate in the talks, but he has been adamant about opposing the two previous health care reform bills passed in the house and the senate. It is however a bit discouraging that republicans have decided to participate in the meeting (trap) on Thursday. The meeting is clearly a trap set by Obama to make himself look good, and the republicans look like they are against the American people. Obama will be able to reference back to the footage and proclaim in his ominous (and arrogant) tone (complete with plenty of echo, to make him sound god-like) ” I tried to compromise with republicans, but they just don’t care about the American people. The “party of no” is the reason that 47 million American’s are without healthcare.”   It is understandable that the republicans don’t want to appear this way, and as result they will attend the meeting; but Obama is going to use this situation against them whether they show up or not.  There is nothing for republicans to gain by attending the meeting, accept maybe a one way ticket out of congress.

Obama is already laying the groundwork for his plan to further decimate whatever remaining favor republicans have with the American people.  He started by stating how much he wants democrats and republicans to come together to form a compromise.  He said this in his weekly internet address:

“I am inviting members of both parties to take part in a bipartisan health care meeting, and I hope they come in a spirit of good faith. I don’t want to see this meeting turn into political theater, with each side simply reciting talking points and trying to score political points” -Barack Obama, King of America

That statement is both hilarious and a lie (Good job Obama, two for one). Funny, because anyone with any common sense knows can see that Obama lives for political theater, and recites talking points like they’re going out of style; A lie because…well come on, do you really think a radical lefty like Obama is really willing to compromise with anyone? I didn’t think so! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, the Obama administration will be releasing their health care reform plan on whitehouse.gov on Monday.  Now, lets do a little bit of math (long pause)…..Yep, its just as I thought, there are 72 hours between Monday morning and Thursday morning.  So, the democrats are releasing their plan for health care reform three days before they are supposed to negotiate with republicans to create a plan for health care reform?  Now do you still think they intend on compromise?

Whatever the democrats true intentions are, we can be sure of two things, its bad for republicans, and especially bad for Americans.

5 Muslim US Army soldiers have been arrested at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. They stand accused of attempting to poison the Army food supply at Fort Jackson, and they are now supposedly being referred to as “the Fort Jackson five.” These 5 muslim soldiers worked as Arabic translators for the US Army. Details of the situation are not clear, as this is still an ongoing investigation; and it is not yet known whether the “suspects” are still in custody.

Given the current rash of muslim “incidents” in the American military, this news is not altogether shocking. What is shocking is that these 5 muslim soldiers were arrested just before Christmas. Two Months!?! Why didn’t we hear about this sooner? Are Homeland Security and the Military trying to cover their mistakes? Perhaps, they are just afraid to admit that their rampant political correctness is a threat to national security. Whatever the reason is, we should have been told about this much sooner.
